Exercise

Optimal exercise for fat loss includes a combination of aerobic activity with interval training (this simply means escalating intensity and speed a minute or two every five minutes) and resistance training (weights). Resistance training is especially beneficial because by strengthening and toning your muscles, more calories will be burned during aerobic and daily baseline activities as muscles require more energy to function.  The more toned your musculature, the more calories will be burned… and your skin will look better too! One form of exercise that may be especially helpful is high intensity interval training which combines resistance training and interval aerobic training in one  30-60 minute session.  Classes are often offered at gyms or may be done at home with DVD programs. Yoga is also an excellent form of resistance training using one’s own body resistance to build strength and muscle tone. More intense flow of power yoga programs can also be aerobic nature as well.
